♰ BASICS
Character's name: Aether (Traveler's Sibling)
Canon: Genshin Impact
Canon point: Patch 3.1 (Sumeru)
Age: 500+ (looks somewhere between 16-19.)
Background: Traveler's Sibling @ Genshin Wiki.
Just a quick rundown explaining the situation in case no one is canon familiar. Genshin Impact allows you to pick to play one of two twins, Aether and Lumine. Whoever the player chooses fills the roll of "the Traveler," who is out to find their sibling who was stolen from them by an unknown god around 500 years before the start of the game. The other becomes the missing twin and ultimately is revealed to be the leader of an antagonist group known as the Abyss Order. However, it's also revealed in the story that the missing twin also played the role of "Traveler" only they did it 500 years prior. Basically, the current "Traveler" is following along their same journey. We also learn that their personalities seem to have been then what it would be if they were the twin you picked to play as. So, I reference certain things in the app about Aether when he's his "traveler" self because it's still relevant to him as the Abyss Leader despite things having changed outwardly. Hope this helps clarify the situation, especially since if you look at official material by Mihoyo, the Traveler is by default Aether, and the missing sibling in Lumine and might be confusing.
    Abilities:
    • Elemental Control: He is able to wield 7 elements (cryo, hydro, pyro, dendro, electro, geo, anemo). These are ice, water, fire, plant/earth, lighting, rock/earth, wind. He is extremely adept at using all of them and has had an extremely long time to perfect his abilities (500 years).
    • Hammerspace: Able to materialize his sword and his wings out of nowhere.
    • Purification: Able to purify corruption and restore things to a pure state.
    • Portal Creation: Capable of making portals to different areas.
    • Sword Mastery: Extremely adept and agile with a sword. Can also apparently do archery according to the storyline, but i'm not sure if that's just a nuance that was overlooked. Either way, he learns really quickly.
    • Speed, Agility, Stamina/Defense: all higher than average. He is able to endure quite a bit of a beating and his fighting style is also more defensive than Lumine's (who is offensive oriented), which helps make them a particularly exceptional fight team together.
    • Some kind of Light/Raw energy power: Can form in hands and use like a fireball spell.
    • ( note. ) these are just the abilities we have seen or are aware of due to background story. I'll be sure if when canon updating anything new has been revealed to include it.

    ♰ SUITABILITY
    Strengths:
      1. Kindness: Although he's become extremely cold due to the events he has gone through versus his personality as the Traveler, his kindness is still seen. The Abyss Order is made up of mutated and cursed individuals from Khaenri'ah and he's leading them to get them the justice they deserve. There may yet be a way to return to them to their original forms. Between Aether and Lumine, Aether is said to be the "softer" twin by the writers, which also lends to the idea that his kindness and willingness to help others hasn't gone away so much as that he's steeled himself to withhold those feelings and do what is necessary for the sake of the people of Khaenri'ah. He is seen when not the leader of the Abyss Order to be very outgoing and social, but he's since cut off contact with almost everyone except the Abyss Order as their prince.
      2. Resolute: Once he's decided on something, he can't be persuaded to change his mind. This is different from his Traveler Personality, where he is willing to compromise more with others and work out a solution all parties can get something from. He also has a bit of a "my way or the highway" thought process as the Abyss Prince most likely due to his original personality and feeling people took advantage of it and abused it in the end.
      3. Loyalty: He is extremely loyal, as can be seen with how committed he is to getting revenge on Celestia for Khaenri'ah's demise. It isn't his battle or his world, but he's taken on the responsibility for those that were good to him. He is unlikely to be manipulative and betray anyone from what has been revealed, and more likely to dismiss those that would give him the opportunity for such an advantage. In a way, he still demands to play fair.

    Weaknesses:
      1. Untrusting: Because he was so trusting before and was betrayed by Dainsleif, he's become very reclusive and unwilling to let himself be vulnerable even when others seem harmless or sincere.
      2. Unable to let go: Aether has a difficult time letting go of past transgressions. This may be due to guilt and a feeling of responsibility in a matter or otherwise obligation, but it's clear that he has become obsessed with his goals and is willing to put being with his sister again (despite being separated for over 500 years) on hold in order to achieve them.
      3. Uncompromising: This is technically just like his "strength" of being resolute. It's also a big weakness now. Since it's his way only and there's no room for compromise, he limits himself for better or for worse. Of course, he is technically extremely powerful and may not need anyone's help, but in Nightfell's setting it'll be a huge disadvantage for him.

    Fears:
      1. letting others down: he doesn't like being unable to help/assist others or see his promises through. the idea of letting them down is unacceptable to him.
      2. being betrayed: After Dainsleif, this is a huge fear of his. His solution has been to not make connections where this could be possible, but it'll become real threat as he bonds with others in game.
      3. being left alone: since he and his sister are the last of their race, he's only always been with his sister until they were separated.
      4. Lumine's Safety: Her safety is still everything to her despite being the leader of the Abyss Order and saying he can't go with her anywhere yet.

    Desires:
Aether as the Traveler's sibling versus him being in the role of the Traveler are slightly different in terms of the priority of his desires. His current main focus is to destroy Celestia and avenge Khaenri'ah. This has put him at slight odds with Lumine as his subordinates often clash with her and she tends to interfere every chance she can if she finds the Abyss Order doing anything. Despite this, Aether's prime concern is his sister's safety and he has watched over her through her trials and tribulations, including with the Abyss Order. He never interferes so long as she is victorious, but it is suggested that he actually would intervene if she were losing to his underlings. So while he is obstinate about destroying Celestia and tells Lumine to stop interfering with the Abyss Order, they have not yet resorted to being enemies towards one another. His main goal as Traveler (and Lumine's) is to reunite with his sibling and leave Teyvat, but it's become a secondary desire that he has made himself put on hold until he sees justice done for Khaenri'ah.

Regrets: He regrets being unable to save Khaenri'ah. The story so far has shown that it looks like the Traveler's Sibling was away when Khaenri'ah was attacked and arrived to an already destroyed civilization.
    Tethers: 3 Tethers.
      1. Dainsleif: Someone that was once important to Aether, but after his betrayal of Khaenri'ah their relationship fell apart. (In canon, the relationship is not yet confirmed, but is most likely Dainsleif was a guide and a friend to Aether just like Paimon is to Lumine 500 years later. It's heavily suggested that Aether also felt personally betrayed by Dainsleif and his choices/actions.) Dainsleif and Aether still seem to have lingering connection despite their fallout, however, although what that exactly is is still unclear in canon.
      2. A Golden Sword: A special blade he carries that seems to have been made for him specifically. His sister all had one when they were separated, but it seems that her powers are not awakened enough to summon it. Since the two of them are the last of their family/kind, this is a very important item to him as it's from a time and place that's been lost to them.
      3. His Wings: Similar to the sword, these manifest through his and his sister's magic abilities, but it's unknown if they are a part of them physically or some kind of accessory/gear (they look like steampunk style wings a little so it's not very obvious.) These are, whether naturally part of them or a piece of gear they can call forth are just like his sword. They remind him of what they lost.
